I have no vast resume of laudable accomplishments to share . . . no degree from Princeton, Harvard, or Yale . . . no specific experience that would convince you that I am an expert in the field of Honor. Any attempt to list what credentials I do have would only support the theory that I should have been voted most likely to be “Ho-Hum” in High School. I do not regret the choices I have made in my life. These choices revolve around three ideals, which have governed my life; Family, Church, and Work. These are very simple ideals for which I do not claim exclusive ownership. As I have traveled across this country and lived in every time zone, I have concluded that countless numbers share these same simple ideals, good, decent people from all walks of life. Regardless of where my family has called home, we have always been able to nurture and strengthen these ideals and rejoice in the freedom to do so. Love of country and our fragile freedom transcends gender, age, race, religion, location, or political leaning. It is honorable and it is real! Yet, before our very eyes, each one of these ideals is being attacked, redefined, and replaced with more and more dependence on the federal government. They may sound very convincing and justified, but the end result is the continued and relentless erosion of our God given liberties . . . . our freedom . . . . that same freedom my father fought to preserve in WWII and Korea . . . that same freedom you and your fathers fought for.
My qualifications are simple. I am an American citizen. I have lived over a half century in the United States under 11 Presidents. I know what freedom is, what it feels like, and what it is like to lose it, having lived in Argentina for two years during the Peron takeover, and in Bolivia for two years during several takeovers. Building six US embassies in the former Soviet Union provided even more evidence of life without freedom. I learned first hand that freedom is more than just a word politicians throw around at re-election time. There is a high price to preserve and sustain freedom. It cannot do it on its own. I believe in the United States of America, the America I grew up in. I am convinced that neither Democrat nor Republican will step up to save this nation and restore it to its founding principles. Each party has lost the capacity to listen and is consumed by their selfish, self-serving agendas. It is my fundamental belief that we, the people, must unite to restore our precious freedoms. We must put aside our petty differences and come together based upon the many things we have in common. We must stand up, speak out, and join in one voice through constant, peaceful dissent. I believe, with all my heart, that America is worth fighting for. UNITEDBYHONOR.COM is dedicated to the hope that we can come together right now and turn this country around.
